Claudi's grew out of a Mossel Bay studio and a Hartenbos hotel — built on the observation that the rooms guests remember are the ones with a scent that stays.
Claudette Du Toit manages a luxury boutique hotel in Hartenbos. Her days are spent in the rooms that hospitality is judged on — the ones where the light, the linen, and the scent have to feel chosen rather than generic.
Claudi's started in a small Mossel Bay studio after years of looking for candles that read the way her rooms did. The brief was simple: hand-poured, slow-burning, no soot, a fragrance throw built for hospitality-scale rooms, packaging that didn't betray the moment. None of the off-the-shelf options met it.
Today, every candle is poured in batches of twenty-five — twenty-four to ship, one to burn-test. The brand started with candles; soap, diffusers, and home goods follow as the studio scales. The name stayed range-agnostic for that reason.
